About Us
The First United Methodist Church of Avalon has been on
the Seven Mile Island for more than 100 years. We are a
full time, year 'round faith community. We serve the
residents of the community, and are proud to be a church
away from home for many people who vacation in the
area. Our hope is that you will be part of our faith
community and join us in our celebration of worship, our
passion for study, our involvement in mission and
ministry, and our delight in fellowship.
Our PURPOSE is to be a Church that proclaims the Good
News of the Love of God, the Grace of our
Lord Jesus Christ, and the Power of the Holy Spirit.
Our MISSION is to be a Church that is a viable
presence of God's love in our community, our nation,
and our world.
Our VISION is to be a church that shares its faith
with others.
